There are few events quite like it.

On Saturday 17th April, the Cow Pat Challenge returns to Tynedale Park for another unpredictable evening of fundraising, entertainment and carefully observed bovine behaviour.

The event will follow the final 1st XV match of the season, as Tynedale welcome Sheffield Tigers to Corbridge.

Once the rugby is finished, attention will turn to the main pitch, where every ticket sold will have been allocated its own square.

Clarence the Cow will then be released onto the field.

Where she chooses to leave her mark will decide everything.

The ticket connected to the winning square will receive:

£1,000 CASH

No skill. No tactics. No complicated rules.

Just one cow, one pitch and one very fortunate square.

A FUNDRAISER THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

The Cow Pat Challenge has already made a huge contribution to life at Tynedale RFC.

The inaugural event raised £18,000 in 2024, helping make the club’s tour to Canada possible.

A further £10,000 was raised in 2026, with those funds now being invested into the refurbishment of the clubhouse bar and entrance areas.

In 2027, every pound raised will support the Tynedale RFC Club Tour to Italy.

The aim is simple: to reduce the cost of the tour and make the experience accessible to as many Tynedale players as possible.

A club tour should not be limited to those who can most easily afford it. By buying a ticket, selling tickets or supporting the event, you will be helping more players represent Tynedale overseas and be part of an experience that will stay with them for a lifetime.

HOW IT WORKS

Every £10 ticket is randomly allocated to a square on the 1st XV pitch.

Following the match against Sheffield Tigers, Clarence will be led onto the field and the challenge will begin.

The first official Cow Pat determines the winning square.

The owner of the ticket allocated to that square wins £1,000.

The more tickets we sell, the more money we raise for the tour—and the smaller each square becomes.

ONE FINAL BIG DAY AT TYNEDALE PARK

The Cow Pat Challenge will form part of a proper end-of-season celebration for the whole club.

Players, parents, coaches, volunteers, members, supporters and friends are all encouraged to stay after the match and gather pitchside for the main event.

The bar will be open, the atmosphere will be building and the fate of one lucky ticket holder will rest entirely with Clarence.
